TSP Market Summary: Week of June 27, 2015

By Roy Weisert, PhD, CFP

Key Takeaways

  • S fund (small cap stocks) continues to be the top performing TSP fund as Q2 concludes
  • I fund preferred over C fund due to stronger 6-month performance despite similar recent gains
  • Second portfolio reallocation this month requires completion by June 30th deadline

As we head into the last week of June, and the quarter, the “S” Small Cap fund remains at the top of the rankings. While the “I” and “C” funds have similar returns over the past quarter, the “I” fund gets the nod since its six months performance is about six percent better than the S&P 500 “C” fund, which is range bound around 2100. Overall, equity exposure continues at 73% with a slight shift in allocation between the “I” and “C” fund. This is the second reallocation of the month so please ensure it is complete by the June deadline.
